Our daughter has an FASD.

Read a bit of our family's story published in MetroParent magazine:

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) is an umbrella term that describes the range of effects that can occur in an individual whose mother drank alcohol during pregnancy.

Alcohol can cause irreversible brain damage on an unborn child and these effects may include physical, mental, behavioral, and learning differences.

There is no reversal or cure for FASD, only therapies, strategies, love and patience to help support those with FASD.
